The Selection (YA Fantasy)

The Selection (The Selection, #1)

The Selection (YA Fiction)

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Review:
I was told about "The Selection" book by one of my sisters who is as addicted to reading as I am. It didn't take me long to get hooked to this book. As soon as I started I could not put it down. I really loved seeing America to be her true self from beginning to the end. She didn't change her ways to fit in the palace instead she had the palace fit her ways. More than once I felt that it was over for her she was going to get kicked out of the palace for the way she behaved but it didn't happen. The author did a awesome job of keeping it interesting and hooked its readers.

The love triangle
In the beginning I wanted America so bad to end up with Aspen but as the story went on I started to like prince Maxon too now I don't know who I want her to end up with. The author did a great job of choosing two different yet good characters. I am hoping in bood two I will know exactly who I would like for her to end up with.
